1. Zero File Upload Guarantee

OnlinePDFRedact.com operates as a purely client-side web application. When you drag and drop or browse for a PDF document, the file is read directly by your web browser using the standard HTML5 File API and WebAssembly runtime.

Unlike traditional online PDF editors, no file bytes, document previews, or extracted text are ever transmitted to our web servers or any third-party cloud infrastructure. You can verify this independently at any time by opening your browser's Developer Tools (Network tab) while loading and redacting a document.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Because of our privacy-first design, we have no mechanism to collect, store, or view:

❌ Document Contents Text, images, forms, annotations, signatures, or metadata inside your PDF files.

❌ Personal Identifiers Your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or billing details.

❌ Redaction Coordinates The locations or contents of the black redaction boxes you draw.

❌ Document History Records of what files you worked on, when, or how often you sanitized documents.

3. Ephemeral In-Memory Storage

During your redaction session, document pages and redaction rectangles are held strictly in your browser's volatile memory (RAM). When you click "Apply Redactions & Download", the modified PDF is generated locally and sent directly to your browser's download manager. No server writes or cloud databases are involved. Closing the browser tab purges all data instantly.

4. Cookies and Web Analytics

We believe in honest, non-intrusive web experiences:

No Tracking Cookies: We do not deploy third-party advertising tracking cookies, cross-site trackers, or behavioral profiling scripts.
Anonymous Server Logs: Standard web server requests automatically record basic HTTP header information (such as your browser user agent and IP address) strictly for routing web assets, preventing DDoS attacks, and ensuring server uptime. These logs contain zero document information.

5. Global Privacy Regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)

Our zero-upload architecture makes compliance seamless for organizations with rigorous statutory duties:

EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Because OnlinePDFRedact does not process, store, or transmit personal data contained within documents, we do not act as a data processor for your files under GDPR Article 28.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell, share, or monetize user personal information or document data.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA): Healthcare workers can safely sanitize patient records and Protected Health Information (PHI) because no PHI ever leaves the local workstation.

Our static website files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts) are hosted on secure global content delivery networks (CDNs). We utilize Google Fonts for typography. These external requests only fetch static design files and never receive or transmit document data.
